Overview
Problem Statement
Design a comfortable, clean, and unique logo for my family's dental practice to replace an outdated design.
Goal
Create a new visual identity that reflects the practice's warmth and professionalism while ensuring seamless usability across digital and physical platforms (signage, business cards).
Process
Began by researching modern design trends in the dental industry, noting that the best contemporary logos avoided literal representations like teeth. Shifted focus to brainstorming a unique concept centered around the office building itself to capture the practice's unique physical identity. Used Adobe Illustrator to refine the final design, focusing on color palettes and typography to capture warmth and professionalism.
Solution
The project successfully delivered a distinct and professional logo that feels clean, unique, and comfortable, avoiding industry clichés. The new visual identity effectively reflects the practice's values and is optimized for seamless application across various media.

Competitor Analysis
Since I had never designed a dental logo before, I researched design trends in the dental industry. I determined:
The best designs were minimal
You could make the logo focused on non-dental concepts (ex. Benca & Gee focused on the mountain region they were located in)
Did not contain teeth
Process
I started my process by brainstorming a few ideas for the new logo and decided that the best I came up with was to model it off of the office building itself since it was once someone's home and it has a few unique features.
From sketching initial concepts to refining color palettes and typography, I focused on capturing the warmth and professionalism that defines their practice. I also made sure the design would work seamlessly across signage, business cards, and digital platforms.
Result
In the end I produced a logo that is now prominently displayed on the sign outside of their office, their business cards and letterhead.
Helping my parents create a new dental logo was a rewarding blend of creativity, strategy, and family collaboration. It wasn’t just about aesthetics, it was about building a visual identity that reflects their values and makes patients feel at ease. Seeing their excitement when the final version came together made all the effort worth it.
